We Had A Talk

This is a follow-up to My Trust Was Betrayed.

Texting between two rooms seems incredibly awkward, and even childish, but we seemed well past the point of petty spite. A short back and forth ended with me going into the kitchen and setting up two chairs, then sending a request. I couldn't sleep without getting some kind of resolve out of this.

We had a long talk, and things seem sorted, so we'll see where things go from here.

At times I feel uncomfortable when I go back and read personal comments I made regarding my relationships that were negative. The mushy, good stuff doesn't bother me at all.

Does your SO read your blog, and if so, how does she feel that the information is out there?

Hmm.. I just read the original post about it being a roommate.

To edit...does SHE read your blog?

Actually, I mentioned the entry when we had the talk, and I practically read it to her; I hit on every point, and many of them were things we'd discussed before. They're even things she talks about to her friends. Heck, one time she even joked about an argument we had to her family (one that I had decided against writing about). I ended up letting that one go... slightly begrudgingly.

Writing about this particular event was one of those things where I wondered if I should calm down first before I write it out and say something I regret. The fact is, I was just that depressed for how long this sort of thing had been going on. I'd been sitting on my hands, trying to let it go, thinking it was just holiday tension... but I've fallen into that trap before. It goes all the way back to when I got my first weblog and was writing about the problems I was having with my family. I mean, I had to tell someone (I'd been considering seeing a counselor, which I ended up doing) since trying to work it out with my family went nowhere.

So, she does know it's here, and while she doesn't read it, she knows what I've said, and didn't dispute a single point. Keeping it up was something I wrestled with, hence the "Repeal of Prohibition" follow-up. That way, it doesn't look like I'm covering up my tracks, but shows that what transpired was just an event that happened like any other. It's moving forward without a retcon.
